The result is an isometric, bird view perspective that puts navigation and street-level decisions front and center, all designed for single player mayhem.

Beyond the core crime-driven freedom, this version includes a Game Boy Color exclusive character named Kelly, who can also be renamed Sumner. It also supports a cheat code that unlocks 15 additional characters, including ones based on the game’s creator. Wanted intensity is tracked with a trouble bar, keeping pressure on as the heat rises.

Radio and menu music are also completely reworked, replaced with 8-bit instrumental tracks by Anthony Paton for a distinctly retro sound compared to other platform versions.
