A haunting fantasy RPG adventure where every step through limbo has a cost. In Crystar, players take control of Rei Hatada, a young woman driven by a desperate promise: revive her dead younger sister Mirai. To reach that impossible goal, Rei makes a deal with a devil from the other world, plunging her into a strange realm filled with wandering souls.

The game unfolds through third-person combat against drifting enemies across limbo, blending action-focused encounters with a story that steadily reveals what Rei must confront to progress. What makes the journey stand out is the mental purification system tied to the world’s creatures. By defeating certain foes, players can trigger “Danmatsuma Thoughts,” which can be “cried to purify,” helping Rei develop mentally over time. That growth unlocks powerful equipment such as Shisou and Mental Armor, reinforcing the idea that the battle is as much internal as it is physical.
