In The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, the Dwarves set out on a brand-new quest to retake Moria, their fabled home beneath the Misty Mountains. Together, players will construct, craft, survive, and explore the recognizable, expansive mines. Fearless explorers must remain alert as unexplained perils lie ahead.

Players assume command of a group of Dwarves sent by Lord Gimli Lockbearer to the Misty Mountains, where they must retrieve the lost treasure from the Dwarven homeland of Moria, also known as Khazad-dûm or Dwarrowdelf, in the abyss beneath their feet. They must have courage to go deep into the Moria Mines in order to retrieve its riches.

No two experiences will be the same in this randomly created Dwarven world of Moria, which can be explored online alone or with others. Gamers can mine for better equipment and supplies, but be careful—mining generates noise, and noise in the calm deep could alert others to the perils below—where there's clatter, there's fighting. Discover the secrets hidden behind three fabled mountains by excavating their mysteries, recovering rare metals, scrounging by on thin air, and facing horrifying forces.

-Craft Legendary Dwarven Armor, Weapons, Tools, and More: Construct and loot legendary Dwarven weapons, armor, tools, and buildings. Restore historic forges to fortify, mend, and enchant equipment. Upgrade and get access to amazing machines and new technology.

- Find Magic Artifacts: Find magical artifacts from the past, such as amulets that bestow strength or wisdom, maps of long-dormant Mithril veins, and swords that illuminate when Orcs approach.
